No D in PTSD

As someone who was labelled with #PTSD I now find the label of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder offensive and not even the right terminology, Post-Traumatic Stress I understand as humans have experienced that for 1000s of years dating back to when we were chasing dinosaurs around.

Stress is a perfectly acceptable and normal experience that our bodies goes through on a daily basis, it can come in several forms as we all know, It’s when it’s not manageable that’s when it becomes an issue for us, the stress triggers several mechanisms and chemical reactions, which can be managed and disperse quickly in our system but when we have continuous or accumulated stress our bodies tend to say … I have had enough of this.

You ever experienced that feeling you can’t take any more of this crap, that I need to get out of here, I need Holiday or Anger or Violence? I’m sure you can relate to these or even experience similar but either way it’s there is stress in our lives, it’s the way we deal with it or reduce it.

So #PTSD or Post Trauma Stress as I prefer, Its accumulated stress  or Anxiety on Steroids, As someone who was diagnosed with the #PTSD label and emerged far stronger the other side I can appreciate what it’s like to feel numbness, dissociation, anger, anxiety and sleepless nights but I refuse to see it as a disorder …..

This is why … A quick search produces this

Really… I mean really, how would you feel if you looked at that?

Now that was a simple search, when we are ill or taking medication we look up the ailments or even side effects from the pills or illness, so a simple search for DISORDER produces that list….

Its offers little or no hope to some people who are at the bottom of a barrel, It’s not a disorder, calling it a disorder gives it a list of words that spell nothing more than carnage.

I specialise in Military and Emergency Services because I served for 23 years in Uniform in the UK in the Army and the Police, I then had the pleasure of being run over “Twice” by a drink driver which was the catalyst for the #Ptsd label from my GP, I experienced years of trauma, violence and stress in those jobs, accumulated stress or prolonged exposure, my body when I was hit by the car that fateful day not only received physical damage but psychological. My mind, My Sub Conscious or My Inner Chimp said…. That’s enough causing it to go into protection mode, causing the release of Neuro chemicals at an alarming rate and my body felt like it wanted to shut down.

I wish someone years ago introduced me to Hypnotherapy or Hypnosis while I was in the military as I could have dramatically reduced that build-up of stress, that build-up of chemicals and calmed my body down… It could have well reduced the impact of the label called #PTSD or Post Trauma.

My Post Trauma was dealt with by a hypnotherapist in one session, the years of conflict and trauma all came out very peacefully but they were released with Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy in One session. I wore the label of #PTSD for 18 months and then after that session I was free from the Sleepless nights, Anger, Frustration and Restlessness.

That’s why I can now write this article and be with you good people, I felt and witnessed how quickly and effectively Hypnotherapy can be when used with a person who knows what they are doing.
